HAGERSTOWN RESTAURANT WEEK AUGUST 2-8

CLICK FOR PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS

Hagerstown Restaurant Weeks offer diners the opportunity to try a new place, enjoy a sought-after specialty restaurant, or revisit their favorite dining establishment. Most of the participating restaurants source their foods locally to showcase the agricultural richness of Washington County, Maryland. Local restaurants are offering three-course meals at three attractive price points: $15.15, $20.15, $30.15 (not including beverages, tax or gratuity).

This year’s Restaurant Week includes fifteen select restaurants; some long-time institutions in Hagerstown and others who are new to the scene.

Dates: August 2-8, 2015

Independence Day… 4th of July is more than just a day off!

How do you celebrate your Independence? Not everyone has the 4th off in my family, so I plan on spending the day shopping and prepping for our 5th of July Family Celebration… I’m going to hit some sales with my Daughter-in-law and Grandchildren. I have a few things that I have to do for my Father. Then I will be at home doing what I love… cooking! My job is to make Spanish Rice ( it’s a special request) but I’m going to make a few other favorites to satisfy my family 🙂 I took the liberty of adding links below for where you can view the best fireworks for your area, and links to the laws for your state about fireworks. Remember, this weekend is about celebration…and even though it’s about Independence..this is a nice opportunity for you to come together with your family and have fun!!!!

Independence 1776

Independence 1776

“The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever.”
–Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776
